Procreation Laws
well basically sense i still dont get the whole "point" of these blogs i just take camerons advice on what to write. and he told me i should post my many opinions that contradict what most believe. entonces... the topic of the day is procreation laws. see i hate the arguing with people about abortion, there is just no point, neither side will ever decide to change their minds. It is said that you should never debate politics or religion, i would like to add abortion to this. the topic just makes people crazy. my good friend emily (some of you know her, some dont) is against abortion in every way. i, myself, am not fond of the idea but if forced to pick a side would choose pro-choice. one day, just to stir things up, i get her talking about abortion. and i proudly come up with a hypothetical situation in which i believe it would be impossible for her to say "ashley, you still shouldnt have an abortion." i asked her what if, i was a 25 year old widow, with a little girl (with no living gaurdians to take care of her in the event of my death) pregnant, with a child who was absolutely 100% going to be completely retarded- almost vegetable like state if born, the birth will most certainly kill me, the child was conceived through a rape, and my daughter would have to live in an orphanage if i died in birth. would it then be okay to have an abortion... emily's response, "no." so i ask her if the decision was in her hands... if she had the choice of allowing me an abortion or telling me i had to go through with the birth (which would result in my DEATH) what would she choose. "you should have the baby" I was mortified by this. you see i have known emily since the 5th grade. we're best friends. if/when i get married she'll prolly be the maid of honor, and she's telling me she'd kill me. fairly shocking, but just goes to show you, how serious an issue this is. well anywyas i have found the perfect solution that will appease everybody, i think. we just need procreation laws. a license if you will. i mean, we license people to drive, to fish, to hunt. to own a f*cking dog, but not to raise a child? keep in mind my idea cant go into immediate affect because we just dont have the technology, but i have faith that given time and effort we will be able to conceivably do this. i think that at birth every male (or female, doesnt matter which to me, this only depends on what is easiest) should be neutered (temporarily, of course) then everyone can go have all the sex they want and not run the risk of a pregnancy. and then at long last when everyone is a bit more mature and in a healthy financial state they can apply to be unneutered. thus allowing them to have all the children they want (unless of course should their license be revoked) & thus, the problem is solved. i think it'd work. anyways quote of the day- "the goat with a thousand children"
